Game Dev Underground is a lot of things - but more than anything else it is a place to connect with fellow developers. It is a place to showcase your games to other developers, post devlogs and get feedback, make new friends, and most important of all, grow as a developer. GDU is here to help you every step of the way.
Game Dev Underground is here to help you, but if you want to help, the best way to do that is to join the conversation and give your insight. You can do that in a number of ways, but the best way is to comment on your fellow developers posts and games and give them the feedback you wish you had yourself. This creates a positive environment for everyone, and a good reputation for you. Everybody wins!
Rep is an accumulated number that represents how many positive things youve done or answers you've given to the community. The only way to get rep is for someone to click on the "+rep" button to give it to you. This is great because it shows the difference between simple activity (like xp) and actual constructive and thoughtful comments.
XP represents how much you actually do inside the underground. You can earn xp from pretty much doing anything. Some examples include loging in daily, publishing a game, commenting in discussion, posting your own discussion thread, commenting on someone elses etc. Pretty much, the more you do, the more XP you'll get.
As of now, the only thing they do is sit there and look pretty. In the future, they will be used for developers to trade services as a form of currency in some pretty cool ways.
Your level is determined soley by your XP. The more you do, the more you level up. If you want to maxmize your level gain, logging in every day and contributing to the comunity is a great way to do that.
Your level represents your time and your contribution toward the the underground community. The higher the level, the more you've contributed. This level is used to reward your efforts in the community and unlock advanced content later on.
a sarcastic asshole an advanced algorithmic and extremely intelligent A.I. built from the ground up to aid the underground. Unlike some people who don't help at all and take all the credit (Tim), Waddles maintains the systems architecture and ensures a smooth experience for all recruits.
