Dope Baron needs your Help, looking for testers / feedback / suggestions

Dope Baron is formed out of a prototype I coded back in 2016, I pickef up the work in early Oktober and aiming on releasing before end of november.

But I need help, YOUR help, at the moment I only have only one test player, and im too close to the project to test myself ( I test it my self to find buggs but I cant really rate the design / balancing ), so I would appreciate it if some of you would try my game and maybe you enjoy it ( if you are into the plant like me you will for sure) .


But now more about the game itself :

Its only avaible for android at the moment but im wanting to add IOS too, but one by one.

You start the game with 10 bucks, you can now start buying Weed and sell it for higher price,while waiting for your weed to get sold you can breed your OWN strains, and even breed them to even more cooler strains, you can experiment with different yields,growtimes and qualitys.

If you have 5000$ you can invest into your first plantation and grow 21 plants of up to 3 different saved genetics of your own strains, its all about Customizing your potfarm.

Hi Bakel first of all congrats on making the game, i played it a couples of minute and i have to say that it is interesting but there is a lot of bugs in this game that need to be fix in order for the players to play it correctly.

First the small yellow where the instructions are indicated is too small and i can barely see anything.

Second is that when there is the instruction box text is merge to the background text and i can't understand at first sight.

Third is when i have to click on the arrow to continue i can't cause there is the little shop for the weed that block it.

I would like to replay/test it once it's fixed.

Update : I found them and fixed them (but its not in the Drop Box version)


Ill then update the DropBox version, 

also im working on a new feature to give the game more sense to play (some kind of missions, at the moment im just planing everything on paper).

Hey Bakel, I'm downloading an Android emulator so I can test your game out, so I'll give you more specific feedback a little later. 

However, in terms of "giving the game more missions" (or obstacles), you could perhaps implement a notoriety meter. Something which forces the player to manage their pot farm and prevent attracting too much "unwanted attention" from local police forces. You could also have a feature where rival pot growers try to steal your crops and your seeds, allowing the player to do a similar thing, stealing plants or seeds from rival growers. Lots of cool features you can add so be creative.

Okay, first thing, it takes too damn long to get into the game. The game overloads the player with tutorial text and by the third or fourth click, I was ready to turn the game off. That's a major flaw with the design. It's going to put players off playing your game before they've even started. I also noticed a series of spelling mistakes in the tutorial messages (although English may not be your first language). I'm quite happy to rewrite these for you if you want. 

In terms of how you can improve the tutorials, simplify them. Also, don't take up the full screen with a message, it makes the UI feel really cluttered. 

The second thing, it's in a different language lol All the buttons and the features are labelled in a language which I don't understand, hence, I cannot really play it (boy you really don't want people to play your game huh ;P). Maybe consider translating the language and releasing an English demo (I'm happy to help you with cleaning up the translations). 

Thirdly, the game doesn't feel intuitive. For example, once I enter the grow room, how do I get out? It's not obvious. You really need to streamline the UI and make it more accessible and simple for the player to navigate the various areas of the game. There are also various HUD issues with elements overlapping each other and fighting for space. Really think about how you can make the HUD less cluttered and more streamlined (can't emphasise this enough as a cluttered game will put players off). 

Once again, I'm happy to work through some of the design stuff with you as that's my area of expertise. I'll also post some screens in another comment, and maybe do some graphic overlays on how you could improve the game visually. 

I can't really say much else at the moment, as I can't play the game any further (until an english translation is released). 

Final thing to consider, it's an interesting game concept, however, I have seen a few similar games knocking around the internet.

So I ask you, what makes your game different? Why should I play your game over one of the other pot farm simulators?

i had to do much for school and wasnt logged into this Forum.


First of all ty for replying,

The problem is that i used OnGUI function for this part, which i have to rework so there are mistakes in placement of the text, same problem with the Money on the second screenshot,

I already have a script for fixing this overlapping problem by just disabling the function for swapping the rooms, but thats not an excuse for this big mistakes by my side


Third Screenshot :

The unused space shouldnt be unused, there should be Rectangles (Red if Achievment not unlocked, Orange if you are currently working on the Achievment, Green if you achieved the achievement)


It looks like you used an Emulator for testing, can you please tell me which device you actually ermulatet ? So i can see on which devices that happens because on my own phone there is no problem with the achievment screen. Also the text in the top mid should have a kind of yellow background and not overlap eachother (the background of the newest text just hides the other texts backgrounds)

also the icons dont overlap the clutter on my device (ill upload screenshots in another comment).

by pressing on the Pots you can open the Strain selection, then choose between up to 12 Strains (depends on your Level) and cross breed them by clicking on "Kreuzen", each strain got different stats in their yield and grow time, (best values are shown in the selection but they can have upto 10% worse stats, so its about luck), if you breed 2 strains the app is generating a random value between the stats of both strains.
