Hello, guys!

I recently finished my Unity game and I would like if someone can test it to give me feedback. Are there people interested?

Here's the game:https://smallfast.itch.io/speedash.

Thank you all!

first, i only say things that I wished people would be honest with me, the game is cool but the control kind ruins it I'd highly recommend that you make it as 3 paths with the ability to jump between them, am I assuming this a prototype, so I wouldn't complain about the animation .

and I hope when you finish the entire game I got the chance to play it again

best wishes :)

I find the player character obscures the view a bit, perhaps make the camera higher up or the character smaller. I like Ziyad's suggestion to make three paths you can switch between instead of free movement, it would make it a lot easier to control.

Thanks guys! I'm very happy you answered. I will consider what you told to me

Uploaded! I moved the camera up a bit and now the character moves differently. I don't know if it's exactly 3 paths as you say, but, if you can, try and tell me.Thank you!

Big improvement :) I couldn't make it past the first level before but now I was able to see more of the game. I found it wasn't obvious that you weren't safe in the middle when going past the first spiky obstacles, maybe make the model a bit wider. The later obstacles were great. One other thing is to name your versions so that they can be told apart when downloading i.e. 0.1, 0.2, 0.3 etc etc.

finally, i could pass the first level, but actually, the hardest level is the first one, the following was to easy, try to work on the level design a bit,   great work, keep going.

Hi,

So I played the game without reading others feedback and here is mine in no particular order:

  • I really liked the idea of seeing my character, however, I believe the PoV isn't the best in the world. The camera behind the player doesn't allow you to see clearly and thus you make poor judgement calls.
  • The hitbox for the character seems to be too big or the obstacles. Sometimes when I am in an empty lane, the game restarts simply because the lane next to me has an obstacle.
  • It is really hard to identify obstacles from stuff to pick up from the character itself, everything is colored red. Yes, the character has some white in it, but the rest just looks the same color wise. Having different shapes camera angle don't help much.

Overall the game for what it is, seems OK. However, I believe there is more to it than that. What you've built is good and works, but what does it do different from other runner games out there? You have an open canvas at the moment and you can go in different directions depending on what you want to do with the game.

Hope this helps and good luck!

Is it your first unity-project? Itīs somewhat like my first and current unity-project, I just do to learn unity and c#, check it out at http://gdu.io/game/skyways

Itīs like we both inspired by skyroads-like game, or in ur case "templerun", but took a diffrent style and mechanic.

Like Vallar already said, some obstacle block 2 lanes, but visually looks like it only block 1 lane.

And some ideas to improve:

1. Add Jumping, and jumping over holes and cliffs.

2. To ripoff templerun even more, add crouching under obstacle.

2. Add the instruction at the mainmenu, I first missed the info about "E" to go faster, and almost missed to see the controlscheme for left/right.

This is a great prototype and cool name. It have a great potential, so donīt stop develop it.

At first when i played it i had some issues. Then i noticed that your Itch.io download link seems to be out of date. But i'm gonna list the issues i found here. If you could provide me with a link for an updated version i would be glad to play it and give some better feedback.

1st - Some excessively bright bloom effect ( https://imgur.com/a/9F2Kb ) .

2nd - It had poor performance. I'm playing on an integrated graphics card ( HD Graphics 3000 ), but even so it should be able to run this simple game. I managed to play it on 800x600, very low settings, at some 30 FPS. Even tho changing the settings didnt make a lot of difference. I get around 25 FPS on Ultra settings.

3rd - The first level is confusing because you can run on 3 different lanes, but the obstacles only appear in 2 different positions, and that leaves you wondering whether you're gonna hit the obstacle in front of you or not. It would be much more intuitive to have 3 lanes to run and 3 lanes of obstacles.

4th - In addition to the issue above, the camera is too close to the player for you to see when you hit some obstacle that is behind you.

5th - Death is too sudden so you dont really understand why you died. You need a little death animation.

Thanks guys for your feedback! I will consider what you told me. Since I'm a student, it can take some time to update the game, but I will try to do my best

could be really fun game, but i needed like 20 attempts to get past first obstacle.  i can't understand when it is safe to change the lane, i always do it too early. it gives me bad experience. as i understand there are three lanes, but the obstacles and energy balls don't seem to be aligned to the lanes.. you need to make simple things obvious. i would like to run, but it feels wrong. don't you think?

Hey guys, I'm looking for some feedback on my text adventure game. It's a hobby project that I'm completing with my wife. It's still in the prototype phase but any feedback on what could make the game better (except adding graphics) is appreciated. https://playcanv.as/p/Jk8YVjVg/
