Got bored.. writing a project / link manager in php..

15

Got bored.. got tired of notepad docs of pasted links.. and links spread across multiple sites and browsers and... yeah.. you get the picture.. So i wrote this.. even have my own "Add to" bookmark bar button..
Also going to add in online ToDo lists for my projects maybe something like my own Trello, as well as a generic notes page for those random thoughts.. and still thinking of other options to add to it..

Links are entered manually or automatically with the Bookmark bar button. Links include the title, the link (obviously), the category (which you can set up dynamically), and tags. The links are fully searchable searching within all their fields. If you were able to to be logged in as an admin, you would have icons to edit individual links, remove them, etc.. thinking about making options to make certain links public or private as well.

Would anyone else be interested in something like this to use? as a download to add to your own domain, or on mine, or?

Demo without admin rights:

Squigglyfrog Link / Project Manager

feel free to browse my links.. this site will remain public so..

I like it a lot!

The UI is really nice and clean as well. Was looking to do something like this for a wiki style community link database for articles and game engines. Looks ike you already have it figured out!

How long have you been building this kind of stuff?

Off and on for a long time. Some of it is hacked together. Using bootstrap for the Css and layout since I'm not a Css master by any means. Same with mysql, but I can usually get the job done.. Not my favorite thing to do but.. Sometimes it's a nice change. Got a couple other websites still sitting here for months cuz I don't want to work on em

Ahhh, you know just enough to get you in trouble eh?

That rocks man.

These days you can literally google every single line of code, command by command and learn by doing. Hell, thats how I learned php, mysql, javascript and jquery. Googling "How to strip prefix string php" or "how to load sql query into array php" and after a hundred or two hundred times you start to get the hang of it.

WIth stuff like that though and then combinging it with HTML 5 or web based games, you got a pretty neat little marketing tool for your site!

Built enough to know enough.. and php isnt much different than c# or anything else.. back in the php 3 days I created an entire CMS on my own with rearrangable menus and everything.. but then didnt touch it for years after.. nice thing about this is I can focus less on the styling and all, and more on the code.. bootstrap takes care of most of the styling and media queries for me..

Added sticky notes.. dynamically added and dragable.. kinda a pain to integrate, but it worked.. not overly mobile friendly though.. so might rip it out and do it a little less fancy..
